The following list consists of some of the largest environmental
and conservation organizations in the US. All have 50,000
members or more. The principal advantage of a big group is the
'numerical clout' they carry, if they are lobbying in Washington
for the kind of political action you believe in. Most of these
groups also publish a monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly magazine
for their members. Many of the names of the organizations
describe their work. Some may be able to supply information
about various topics shown below:
